10,000 downloads!
10,000 downloads in less than a week, that's right! Sex Drive's release has been absolutely stellar and above all our expectations. Even after the release frenzy this little project is still surprising us every single day. Whatever doubt we had about its viability has been cleared by all the support we received and I'm happy to say that I'm back to the writing desk! And since we're in such a celebratory mood, how about a little sneak peek?
Over the next few days I'll be working on the game's plot. That's right, Sex Drive will indeed have a plot! We were coy about it up to release, keeping our cards close since we didn't know what kind of reaction people would have to the game. But we mentioned it briefly in the previous DevLog, and by now enough people picked up some of the hints we left in the game.
For Sex Drive, Eddio and I had this idea of trying to weave in hints of a story in as many places as possible — in the stories, sure, but also in the variations, the art and UI, and, eventually, in the soundtrack as well. That'd allow us to deliver the hot porn without long, intrusive plot sequences mixed in with the hot stuff. But we also wanted a more focused place to tell the story we had in mind, so we decided to have vignettes between the erotic stories to tell things more directly.
We plan on having seven vignettes. Here's their current status, as of today:

I'm hoping I can knock out all the vignettes more or less in one go now, so I can send them off onto a very nice and careful editing process. I want to make the writing on those shine.
It's funny, actually. While writing the erotic stories of Sex Drive I had a certain plot in mind, a set of backstories for the characters, but I didn't know how much plot people would want from what's essentially a porn game. But I was told that our readers would certainly be into whatever plot I could cook, that they'd be expecting our stuff to be written with love. Which so happens to be the vision I went with from the start, despite keeping my cards close; Sex Drive is raunchy porn written with love. I really hope you like what we have in store.

Now, this DevLog has another purpose beyond celebrating, and it's getting feedback! We'd like to hear what everyone has to say about the game, what you liked or disliked, where the current systems (like the kink selection) left something to be desired, what kinks you'd want to see, what scenarios you'd like, what bobble heads and bookmarks you'd want... So, please, leave us a comment and feel free to tell us anything you want!
Now, I do have to make a disclaimer here: about half of the game is already written, the UI is done and pretty much all the systems are already coded. We want to keep improving the game and address all the feedback we can, but there are some things we can't change too much due to difficulty, scope and our current stage of production. But I still can add things here and there, with some creativity. For example, we received a suggestion for adding cigars to the game as a kink option — hell, it really matches the trucker aesthetic, doesn't it? We don't know if we'll be able to make it into its own toggleable kink, but I've already managed to add some cigar-smoking as a centerpiece in one the vignettes. So, even if we can't reinvent the game, I still can squeeze good stuff in here and there.
That said, even if we can't put your suggestion in this time, we'll be writing it all down so we can improve the next projects we work on. And if you can't think of anything we could improve on, giving us a good rating with a written review always helps keep ourselves motivated!

Devil's Gambit comes out on November 20th!
If you thought that a new build of Minotaur Hotel and Sex Drive were enough for a single month, think again! We have Devil's Gambit coming out this Monday, November 20th.
I already spoke about it in our previous DevLogs, but we gained so many new followers from Sex Drive that it's worth repeating ourselves. Here's the summary for you:
Devil's Gambit is a mystery romance visual novel following Hector, a badger healer who returns to Rannai, a town which inspires only the fondest memories in him. The mischievous yet friendly people, the stories they told, the fertile forest east of town, the mist that heralded every sunrise. But above all he remembers Cadgan, a wolf a bit younger and smaller than himself, yet so much braver. But that was nine years ago. Upon his return, Hector returns to find the town transformed by the new duke's reign, and a Cadgan that has grown into a mountain of a man. As he works as a healer and reignites a passion he forgot long ago, Hector notices something in the air. The trees' roots stir with his every step.
The first build of Devil's Gambit comes with over 30.000 words, 20 CGs and 74 fully realized sprites. It's one hell of a visual novel. I hope you'll enjoy what we have in store!

The stories so far have been great, and the hints towards a more complex plot are also very welcome, I got to say that I especially enjoyed that the protagonist is very much a versatile slut, going to town either bottoming or topping whoever he pleases;
The 2 things that I would like to mention are minor though.
First is that while I don't know know what scenarios are planned it would be welcome to have some alone time as the protagonist pleasures himself, to know some of what he likes to do when there is no dick within reach other than his own can be fun, not to mention the moments of "post nut clarity" could give some character insight.
Second and I don't know if this is feedback or a bug report, or something, but during the second story, one of the kinks marked for showing either didn't show up or was so subtle it made little difference (I double checked for tagging it to show and there was no change with the kink active or not) even the little icon on the bottom of the screen not showing up, the kink in question was "large orgasms" I think, or it's other equivalent,maybe it was a small oversight.
In any case, this project is starting off strong, I hope to see more from it and to be able to contribute to it as soon as I can.
We'll have more introspective moments for sure!
About the bug, we'll take a look at it, thank you for bringing it to us.
